Re: Lye and Wollescote

gaize,I'm afraid I know nothing of Eli but I have that Henry Wooldridge was born in 1840 and that his first wife was Ann Taylor sister of Samuel Taylor, anchorsmith of Brierley Hill. Henry I understood had a nickname “Garibaldi”. My ancestors were horse nailmakers on Lye Waste but as far...

Re: Sarah Bastable/Basterfield

To all concerned, this is my family of which you speak. John Bastable(1749) was my 4 times great grandfather's brother and was married to Sarah Andrews. Re: *Arc tbc* --Beet family of Rowley Hall

Mumbles, I don't know whether I can add much to what you have already said other than Elizabeth was the name of mine owner John George Higgs's wife. John Higgs I believe was Squire John Beet's brother in law. He and Elizabeth lived in a big house called TheTotnalls which as you probably know was at ...

Re: Catherine Dudley m. Thomas Dudley

Thomas Dudley who married into the baronial Dudley family came from a long line of Dudleys who had farmed in the Tibbington area of Tipton for generations right back into Mediaeval times I believe. William Dudley born 1625.
Cornelius Dudley born 1627.
Humble Dudley born1629.
Hannah Dudley born 1635.
Incidentally as far as I am aware Thomas Dudley was not connected to the baronial Dudley/Sutton family.
