Hello Gardener,
Thank you for your reply. Not sure if this is the case as I've seen British passenger lists much less than 100 years old. The individual died in the mid 1980's. I'll keep searching.

Ship's Log
Hello everyone and a happy new year. I'm trying to find a ship's log for John Brelsford born 1905 in Bristol, Gloucestershire travelling from New Zealand to the UK. He would have been in New Zealand in or before 1934 and then returned to the UK. John had a warrant for his arrest for non payment of c...

Re: Smart Brothers
Thank you gardener for the list of books. I have some reading ahead of me.
Also thank you for the newspaper articles. I think I should take a look at the actual report to make sense of it.

Re: Bostock
Good morning Jimmy, I apologise for not replying sooner. This latest message relating to Bostock twins, in particular Frank and Henry with mother's maiden name of Wootton really has set me thinking. I must have the incorrect mother as Mason/Biddulph. Back to the drawing board for me then. Could you ...

Good morning, I'm searching for a marriage and a birth with mother's maiden name. I'm struggling with this one. Looks like a number of marriages. Frederick Bostock a stone mason married widow Emily Mason, Biddulph in 1864. I've found the family in the 1871 Census. In 1873 Emily had twin boys Henry a...

Re: Birth and Mother's maiden name
Hi Jimmy, Someone sent me a message on Family Search saying the mother was Hannah Hills found on the baptism record on FindmyPast. I don't subscribe to FMP and I can't find a baptism on FS. I gathered Hannah and Mary Ann were twins because I found the birth reg on Freebmd. Thank you as always for he...
