Detailed Information of individuals

Until I can easily surmount the enigma of my American ancestors I've decided to concentrate on some of my more recent ancestors: In particular I'm after detailed information on my Great Granddad 'George Henry Blacklee', he was chairman of a cigar company called Morris and Morris and reputedly suppli...

Re: A basic question on pre 1915 birth certificates

Thanks for that guys. I'm convinced George Philip is the one I'm after; I've found a John Goode Blacklee that seems to have married a Rebbecca Indiana THOMAS, so that ties that up. Although I have no idea where this American thing is coming from. There's a 'Daniel Blacklee' that marries a 'Jane Good...

Re: A basic question on pre 1915 birth certificates

I have it boiled down to a single family (that seems most likely): I think it's between a George Philip Blacklee and a Arthur Percival Blacklee, the later is on the 1911 census as married and at 37 years of age but with no listed children residing in the property, whilst George Philip Blacklee is on...

Re: A basic question on pre 1915 birth certificates

Hi, I've just started to look into my family tree but I'm stuck at my G grandfather, he was George Henry Blacklee born 1905 - but there is no mention of his mothers maiden name on the online data from ancestry.co.uk. If I ordered the actual physical birth certificate would it contain his mothers ma...

Re: Newb help!!

Hi, Thanks for all the help! I'll have to speak to my dad tommorow to verify some of those people you've mentioned; I'm not sure if he had a brother called Alexander, it doesn't wring a bell - I'll ask tommorow though. In regards to the search: I'm on the .co.uk version and searching the historical ...

Re: Newb help!!

Cheers thanks for the help - I'm not sure If it'll be that helpful though, there's a lot of information I don't know and was hoping simple searchs would provide some viable info. Doesn't seem to be the case though! Seems to be a scarcity.

Re: Newb help!!

Ideally to order. It seems a lot of the searches I make fail to pay dividends: even BC dating to the early 20th century have failed to turn up.

Newb help!!

Hi, I've just started mapping my family history but I'm having problems finding some pretty basic information. I'm registered on 'ancestry.co.uk' but I can't find some records even though I have definitive information! For example, I can't even find my dads birth certificate: a Robert Blacklee born ...
