I have just finished reading a book by Annie Murray called Black Country Orphan, given to me by my neighbour as she thought I would be interested in it. I normally pass on my books but I shall be keeping this one as it resonates with me as some of my ancestors lived and worked in the area she writes...

Does anyone know what service these soldiers are in? One of these men is supposedly the father of a deceased friend but she was born 1932, so between wars!

Lucy Clara Buckett married Edgar James Pegrum in 1924 and he died 1944. Can anyone find her in any electoral regs after that date and if she is living with anyone else. Address was 56 Canonbury Rd Enfield I believe. Found entries for her throughout the 1950s and 60s but got no account with ancestry....

The adopted person has been dead 15 years but her son is alive. I presume he would be the one who could apply.

I know the birth parents names and the adopted parents (the 2 mothers were sisters). Just wondered if there was any paper work giving the reason for the adoption especially when the birth mother was married.
