Re: Census address 1891
Thanks Gardener. Perhaps the “ continued sleeping rooms” were an outbuilding on the farm as Francis( Frank) was a farm labourer.

Re: Albert T Lloyd
It’s one of the reasons it is taking me so long to work through the family tree. I find a snippet of information and I want to know the story behind it, as you say, warts and all. You are right, what those guys went through must have had some bearing on the rest of their lives. Today, we call it PTS...

Re: Albert T Lloyd
This is the information that Gardener found out about Albert. This 2nd marriage took place after he re enlisted in 1919 and is probably the reason for his imprisonment. Also, it seems he deserted. SERGEANT-MAJOR'S ALLEGED BIGAMY. THREE WOMEN THE CASE. Albert Thomas Lloyd, a Company-Sergeant- Major o...

Re: Albert T Lloyd
I cant help feeling a slight sense of injustice. No matter what his indiscretions were, there is no doubt he did more than his bit during WW1. Despite being wounded 3 times ( twice during the battle of the Somme) he still re enlisted in 1919. No wonder he went off the rails. Well done Apowell, loved...

Oh, shame. How did you find out it was St Edmund? I have a friend who lives in Dartford, she might be able to go there and check for me.

Re: Anyone with Findmypast?
There might be a bit of confusion with the place Kingsdown as there is a West Kingsdown fairly close to the Darent Valley, where Eynesford, Otford & Shoreham are, and Kingsdown near Deal on the Kent coast. The only details I know for sure is that Family search shows a marriage between George Bo...

Does that mean I would have to attend or find someone who is going?

Re: Anyone with Findmypast?
Ive found a George Booker b 1796 in Eynesford, which is a very short distance from Shoreham and is also where George & Sarah were married. It gives his parents names as William and Elizabeth, so that throws doubt on the hints from Familysearch. Im going to explore this more.

Anyone with Findmypast?
Whilst I await access to Kent parish records, can anyone help with this one? I have George Booker census records which determine he was born in Shoreham, Kent abt 1800. He married Sarah Mercer ( born Otford 1803) in 1822 in Kingsdown Kent. This is the last ancester that I can be certain about, altho...
