B C Wench, you are right. But this is written as 3 Sept 2017, not in figures.

Re: England/Wales Death Index 1989-2019 on Ancestry.
I just checked another couple of relatives, and they appear correct. Apparently, the records hav ecome via a data company from obituaries and funeral directors records.

England/Wales Death Index 1989-2019 on Ancestry.
I've just looked at my late Mum's record on the 1989-2019 death index on Ancestry. All details correct, except for one crucial one. The date of death! She died on 9th March 2017 (09/03/2017), but the record has it as 3rd September 2017, which is 03/09/2017!!! If all of the records have been transcri...
Re: Kindle
I'm on my second one. I wouldn't be without it, particularly useful for holidays, as I would take 3 or 4 books every time! You buy/download books from Amazon. Very easy to use. Mine's a paperwhite. No dazzle if using outside.

It's a shame that the pages have thick black lines across saying "this record is officially closed. Some of my ancestors details are underneath those lines!

Re: Greenhill Farm
I grew up in Greenhill Road, which is off Long Lane, and the house I lived in backed on to Mucklow Hill. I believe Greenhill House is still there, accessed off Mucklow Hill.

Re: Links with the aristocracy - the perils of genealogy
I remember doing a bit of research on the Rose family quite a few years ago now. I was one of the original transcribers of the 1881 census, pre- digital days and came across them then. Very interesting family, with names like Captain, Major and General!

Glimpses of Old Rowley Exhibition
I went to have a look at the Glimpses of Old Rowley Exhibition yesterday at The Providence Chapel, Bell End, Rowley Regis. Very interesting if you have Rowley/ Blackheath ancestors who attended local schools, Sunday schools and Churches. Sadly, tomorrow is the last day to see it. It is open 1p.m-4p.m.
