Re: James Hackett

Its in section 7, and the plot number is 159. Its down on the sheet as 'condition poor, unmarked dirt grave, no surround' but in fairness, its actually not as bad as the sheet makes it out. If I'm correct about it being the right one, the grave next door seems to have been rebuilt, so ours may have ...

Re: James Hackett

Quick update on my search! I finally managed to get the time to get to the archives and view the map, and other bits of information on the whereabouts of James grave. I believe I have found it, well, I think so. The mistake I made was not actually photographing the complete pages of information on m...

Re: James Hackett

Hoping to try and go to the archives this week if possible, I'm away the week after so may not be able to send for the certificate till thats all done. I noticed on Ancestry that it looks like a possible descendant of Matthew Jesse Hackett exists? I've sent a message, but they aint logged in for a y...

Yes, its 119 St Peters Rd, Dads certificate is still out somewhere, but knew I'd seen it on Ancestry on a trade directory from a similar year :P

Re: James Hackett

Pretty sure thats it. I'm certain that address is the one on my Dads birth certificate! I recall him saying once that she lived in St Peters Rd, he would have been 2 years old when she died. Ive been toying with the idea of attempting to find descendants of James' brothers to see if any photos exist...

Re: James Hackett

Thank you times a million!!!! Ive never been able to find this info! I was always convinced somehow that he would be in St Andrews, and indeed have traipsed around it several times in vain. There must be hundreds of those brick type unmarked graves in there, I've probably walked past it.... How woul...

Re: James Hackett

Looking through the posts, all seems correct to the bits I know. I hadnt seen James and Sarah's marriage info before, thanks for that! Also the Roberts family information is correct. I'm currently about to try and track down any possible living descendants of Lily and Walters kids, just to see if an...

Re: James Hackett

Hello all, sorry for the late reply, a crazy little thing called work got in the way! Bear with me while I go through the info so far, most of it looks correct, as I have some of it but not all of it. Answering the one post quickly, James was in the Royal Field Artillery. He was a driver, I assume o...

ARC TBC James Hackett

Hi there, I've hit a brick wall with finding stuff about my Great Grandfather James Hackett. He was born in 1884, and died somewhere between 1919 and 1930. I cant find any record for the time inbetween, in particular his death entry? He served in WW1, but seems to have been one of the 60% who had th...
