Finding ship details
I'm clutching at straws here. I have been trying to find out something about the steamship SS Lodore, vessel number 113143, which sailed from Liverpool. For example, which line operated the ship and where it sailed to.
Are there any avenues to try?

Clerks' salaries, 1906
I found a paper which shows that a great uncle of mine started work at the Great Western Railway as a clerk in the accountant's department at a salary of 20. I'm trying to fathom what the units would be. Is it 20s a week?
Thx

Re: Wood Street, St Pancras?
In case anyone else is interested in future, I contacted Camden Local Studies library and they informed me that what was Wood Street is now Midhope Street, and what was Brighton Street is now Whidborne Street.

Re: Wood Street, St Pancras?
Many thanks @grainers14. That gives me an idea where it was. Odd that Wood Street is not listed amongst old London streets. And it begs the question, what happened to Brighton Street, Manchester Street and Caroline Place... Something to keep me out of mischief for a while. Thanks again

Wood Street, St Pancras?
Hi all Can anyone throw any light on the location of Wood Street, Ossulstone, Middlesex (St Pancras)? It appears in an 1841 census entry but I can't find it in lists of old street names of London and the nearest existing road of that name is in the City of London, which doesn't count as Middlesex. T...

Is some kind soul able to look up the 1901 census for 31 Remington Street Islington, please?
I don't know where I got the address from but I am hoping to find Henry and Elizabeth Oddboy - although the surname is seldom given correctly, which makes finding them a real challenge!
Many thanks

Hi I have found in an index, William Aaron brass musical instrument maker age 26. Can anyone kindly provide further information from the census? I guess his wife Jane was there and their son William John. I can't seem to find William in the 1861 census, although he didn't die till 1881. Many thanks ...

Re: Counties of Sheffield and York
Thanks. It is a certified copy, but dated 1946, not one I purchased.
I wondered if it was because Sheffield used to be a county borough and therefore had some of the powers of a county.
