Re: Ashmore family from Stourbridge 1850s on
I agree - brilliant and then some! I could never have hoped for a 'new' cousin for my 97-year-old mother, long-lost relatives for both of us (and my children), as well as for Nessa and her Mum, and a wide-open window into Ashmore-Davies family history. Now, what to do about the Day family?! Only jok...

Re: Ashmore family from Stourbridge 1850s on
Briefly back online before returning mother to rehab unit .... this all looks really relevant (have not yet had time to study it properly though), thanks to all who have answered ... Looking through the earlier posts this afternoon, I too was struck by the Eli Davi(e)s/Susan Ashmore marriage, and pu...

Re: Ashmore family from Stourbridge 1850s on
I am overwhelmed by the response so far, I had never anticipated anything like this! I just lost a reply about the davies family, bascially saying that the davies side is much better known to us, thanks to the research carried out by a Davies relative .... The links do indeed go back to Eli Davies.....

Re: Ashmore family from Stourbridge 1850s on
There is actually more info on the davies family than on the Ashmores, the Davies research having been carried out by a Davies relative .... Albert davies's father was William Davies, and he married Mary-Ann Carpenter in Stourbridge in 1889. William davies's father was Joseph davies (born 1840), he ...

Re: Ashmore family from Stourbridge 1850s on
Thank you for incredibly rapid response and for pushing back to 1891 census and marriage of John Ashmore and Isabella Baker. This is a great start to my postings on the genealogy forum, just hope someone out there might be able to identfuy some Ashmores descended from the siblings who lived in Delph...

Ashmore family from Stourbridge 1850s on
Looking for information for 97-year-old mother (and myself, husband and children) about the family my mother has never known because her own mother (Nellie Ashmore) died in 1916, 6 months after the birth of my mother (then Mary Ellen Davies) in January 1916, and the Ashmore family appears to have 's...
