Re: Stumped
Have just searched freeBMD for marriages - Baugh 1880 - 1910 then checked all the Elizabeths and likely places - nothing Searched on James Martin 1880 - 1910, the only Baugh that comes up is Sarah!!! Re: Stumped
Had replies back from both Coventry registry office where I sent for a birth certificate for Dora and Dudley where I sent for a marriage certificate for James & Elizabeth. No records found at either. Looked for marriages on Freebmd 1875 - 1890 and searched just on the surname Baugh, only results...

Next thing is to visit my local library and look at the electoral registers from 1912 on. That was the year James wife Elizabeth died. Will b...

Re: Stumped
My head hurts after looking at the ancestry research. It's not made any easier by the fact that James and Joseph were fashionable names at the time. Something does not fit somewhere. Initially I thought Sarah may have been a Sarah Elizabeth, but turned out not to be the case. My Direct line was a Da...

Re: Stumped
The only James Martin I can find born around that time (1864) Seems he was working away at that time, and possibly in 1901.

Re: Stumped
She was definitely Baugh, as I manged to find her living with her parents when she was younger. The number of years married matches, married in 1883 and 28 years on the 1911 census. Wish I could find the names of the children. They could have been born anywhere. Will sit down and have a good look a...

Re: Stumped
Is it worth getting the birth certificate for Ethel Vera May? Just to confirm her mother's maiden name? One possibility is that the maiden name given on her death certificate is wrong. Or it could be a name from a previous marriage. Or it could be her maiden name but her marriage to James was a 2nd...
