Actually the second newspaper item re Miss A Gleeson and Mrs Goring I have seen before, but I mistakenly thought it was Miss A (Ann) - this gives me something to think about. The first newspaper item would not be her.
I would still like to confirm it by her arrival.

Linell - I should know this - but it is about 20 years since Ive used Rootsweb - what is the difference between L & D (list and digest) - I think one you get daily as a group, and the other you get individually??

According to the Merchant Navy Seaman register his place of birth was Honiton in Devonshire which is about 6 miles from Southleigh. On his baptism it says his parents were living in Southleigh.
