Jane is with her family on the 1861 census at 34 but not on 1871 with her family. I wonder if she left home and went to find Walter at 44? She is with him in 1881 then seems to return to live with her son Thomas until she dies. Very odd but thanks for letting me know that children ended up all over ...

Jane here at 34 seems to have gone to live with a Walter ? born c. 1856(? her son). Walter is never on the census returns. Did they give Children away in 1860?
