Just a quick update.
I have quoted the recorded date of birth for this child as 1st August. That should be the 10th August.

The birth certificate from GRO shows no first name. I received a copy of this. The same birth in the register at Sandwell archives also has no first name as shown in the West Mids BMD index. Many thanks for your replies. I have been able to identify the same birth on West Midlands BMD. Reference is RR/3/298. The 298 is the record entry number.
