Re: Robert Jones, born Rose Vale, 1918

Cid & Jimmy, Thanks for these leads. Its taking me a while to get to grips with the detective work involved and I do appreciate your help! Thomas Edward Jones was a 'labourer' per his marriage certificate. The 1901/1911 census data also looks promising. My mother says Thomas Edward Jones was bor...

Re: Robert Jones, born Rose Vale, 1918

Hi, I've now got my paternal grandfather's marriage certificate: Thomas Edward Jones (21, so born 1892), married Margaret Mullin (21) on 16/11/1913. He was living at 14 Rose Vale, she at 102 Roscommon St. His father was Thomas Jones ( a Carter), her father was John Mullin (labourer, deceased). There...

Re: Robert Jones, born Rose Vale, 1918

Hi,

I have found my father's (Robert Jones's) marriage record to Margaret Mullin in 1913 and am going to order a copy to see what extra info I can get.

I know my father had several siblings. I shall get whatever names I can from my mother asap.

Thanks for the guidance!

Re: Robert Jones, born Rose Vale, 1918

Maggie, My Dad's father was Thomas Edward Jones, although his marriage record does not show him using the second forename. He married Margaret Mullin in 1913. Margaret Mullin is shown in the 1911 census as living at 8, Denmark Street, Waterloo, Lancs. According to my Mum (still going at 91!), Thomas...

Re: Robert Jones, born Rose Vale, 1918

Many thanks - I'm new to this and will have loads more questions to ask! I looked at the census 1911 via FindMyPast and the only RoseVales I could find were in Cornwall. In the 1891 census there shown as Rose Vale Street.

Robert Jones, born Rose Vale, 1918

Hi, I've got my Dad's birth certificate and know he was born at 30, Rose Vale, Everton on 6th April, 1918. I can't find Rose Vale, Everton in the 1911 census. It is included in the 1891 census and of course in my Dad's birth certificate, as his place of birth. What might have happened to it? Could i...
