Re: *Archive?* BMD Birth Bailey & Rogers

Considering nobody deemed to answer the question in the previous post I made, it can be either deleted or archived.

Re: Bibles and trees

I didn't need to check one (my mothers). That is complete even down to the time of birth. Of the others that have been checked up to date, just one seems questionable. Which was the reason I posted this question in the first place. The frustration, incidentally, comes from this, and the fact that no...

Re: Bibles and trees

To be truthful, I'm over the moon with this find, but at the same time, (and yes, I know this doesn't sound right) a little frustrated, because I suspect it is incomplete.

Bibles and trees

A simple question, even though the answer may not be. So, opinions please. A bible in your possession is known to have been owned by your Great Grandfather. In that bible is a family tree. Would you take the tree as being true or not? Or would you want the entries confirming with birth/marriage/deat...

Re: BMD Birth Bailey & Rogers

Thanks to the help I have received on here, this one is progressing well for me....but its turning out to be a bit of a minefield with all the names.

Can someone answer this question. Did county boundaries change in the mid-1800's? If they did, is there anywhere online this is documented?

Re: Tracing a name

A couple of days ago, I came up with a name. He was born in the correct area, died in the correct area, and then to cap it all, my real name - which is spelled in an unusual way - turned up on another family tree which was connected to him....after further research, it turned out to be wrong. Drat! ...

Re: Tracing a name

I'm not getting my hopes up too much, but over the last 24 hours, I've managed to find out the village that the one I am looking for lived in, as well as the church he attended. Which with any luck, will cut down the number of names on the list considerably, and make things a lot easier.

Re: BMD Birth Bailey & Rogers

Thankyou Auntie M...is it always like this, the more names one finds, the more questions one has?

I'm now wondering if the Richard Bailey aged 41 in 1881 is the same one as shown as being 34 in 1871.....

Thats the one...I recognise him from the childrens names.

Now I must check where Old Park is....if what I was told as a child, it should be near Madely in Shropshire.

Thanks for the help so far.

*Archive?* BMD Birth Bailey & Rogers

Could someone look up these two people for me please (they were married to each other 1891)?

The birthplace (and parents if on birth certificate) of Absalom Bailey, born 1867, died 1933, and the same for Sarah (possibly A) Rogers born approx 1865, died 1928?

Thanks in advance.

Re: Tracing a name

To misquote slightly.... "I choose to do this, not because it is easy, but because it is hard, because that goal will serve to measure and organize the best of my energies and skills, because that challenge is one that we I am willing to accept, one I am unwilling to postpone, and one which I i...
