overton in lancashire seem to have a website for births marriage and deaths so ill have a look there

I have a marriage certificate from someone in the family ( John Joseph Woodman) . The marriage certificate lists Joseph Woodman and Alice Woodman ( Airton ) as his parents. but looking on the census (1851) he is listed as a nephew. which one is correct?

Sorry i dont have access to the 1851 census i only paid the 5 credits for the 1861 census. now im begining to think i have followed wrongly somewhere as the 1861 has Living at the Kenzels - which apparently my family have lived their for a very long time.
