You guys are magic!!! There are some red herrings there (Clement for one) but the rest are sheer gold. I had many of the census entries but a lots of new stuff there. It will take me a week to get my head around it. I particularly must find the author's biographies book!
Thank you all so much
Eddie

ARC TBC - Melville Salter Chaning-Pearce 1886 - 1969
HI Everyone I am researching Melville Salter Chaning-Pearce born 1886 died 1969. You'd have thought with a name like that he should leap off the page at you. I have his wife's name as Doris and a date of death of 1966 (he remarried the same year aged 83!) but I need to find her maiden name. They had...

Re: Illegitimate Ancestor - how to progress
Thanks everybody. I've looked at that site and it seems very useful. Dromore is only a few miles away so I'll take myself off there and see what i can find. I also looked for any record of a Samuel Gracey born 1902 but found nothing. However there was a Samuel Stewart born 3rd Q 1892 and registered ...

Re: Military Birth records etc
Mark, That's magic because it gives me his original Regt as well, although the title 41st of Foot should have disappeared in 1881!!! Eddie PS - just occurred to me that perhaps there are no more records in the Army series because he transferred out of the British Army to the Indian Army at some time.

ARC TBC............Military Birth records etc
Hi Guys
can someone advise me where I can find the records of BMD in relation to servicemen abroad - and in particular India.
Specifically I am seeking information about the marriage and children of Hedley Charles Parks and Julia Rodgers possibly in Simla C1900 to 1916.

CHELTENHAM COLLEGE REGISTER - COMPLETED
Does anyone have a copy of the Cheltenham College Register covering the year 1894?
If so could they please have a look for a chap called L SPEAKMAN who won a Military and civil Department Prize that year.
Thanks
Eddie
