Re: Martha Louisa BARNES

Those censuses are the ones I was talking about but what makes you think Herbert Slater could be a brother? It says boarder on the Census and they are born in totally different parts of the country. It seems too much of a coincidence that he would have changed his name to BARNES and at the same time...

Re: Martha Louisa BARNES

Ok, I'm thinking to check out this marriage certificate.. Name: John Joseph Fox Year of Registration: 1884 Quarter of Registration: Oct-Nov-Dec District: Marlborough County: Wiltshire Volume: 5a Page: 176 I can't seem to find a matching Barnes married in that year or place but n the 1891 census, it ...

Re: Martha Louisa BARNES

No, I haven't - actually I couldn't seem to find a fitting marriage on Ancestry.co.uk. I wondered about the Bowood census as well, seems a long way from Broad Hinton but it is very close to Calne...if that census was correct then this is the fitting 1870s census. Name: Lucy Mary Barnes Age: 4 Estima...

*Archive?* Martha Louisa BARNES

My great grandfather was born as Francis Scannel FOX in Newbury in 1910 to John Joseph FOX a tailor from Glasgow and locally born Martha Louisa FOX, they were both quite old when he was born and I'm pretty sure that Martha Louisa's maiden name was BARNES (Francis S FOX changed his surname to BARNES ...

Re: *Help adding BCC*--George SIVETER in Birmingham/Dudley a

I put the lookup about the George SIVITER and Sarah TAYLOR marriage in the Dudley & Smethwick section a couple of days ago, it seemed to disappear quite quickly.. is that normal or did I do something wrong?

Re: George SIVETER in Birmingham/Dudley area

Thanks, it's quite likely.. my family have a pretty good track record of finishing off in the Workhouse, good job they've closed them down for my sake!! If Thomas and Jane Ann SIVETER do turn out to be his parents, where do I go from here? I'm never quite sure what to do once the birth dates get int...

Re: George SIVETER in Birmingham/Dudley area

Yeah, it seems Thomas married Emma BROOKES, moved from Rowley Regis to St. Helens and later on to Skelmersdale/Lathom, their daughter Jane was my mum's great grandmother.Just about all of her family are from the North West, so it's a bit of a surprise to find some Black Country blood!

Re: George SIVETER in Birmingham/Dudley area

Thanks Jimmy and Mallosa. It is him on BCC. You'll have to mind my ignorance, as it's the first time I've seen that site today - is there anyway to find out the name of his parents on that site or is he the beginning of the tree? The marriage looks good, as does the Levites/Siveter situation, thanks...

*Arc pending look up *--George SIVETER in B'ham/Dudley area

Hi, I noticed that there are quite a few people on here from the West Midlands. One of my mother's great grandmother's had the maiden name SIVETER and I've managed to trace her roots to a George SIVETER, generally on the censuses his birth date is down as 1821 but on the Free Death Index it says abt...

Hey everybody

Hi everyone, I've just signed up. I finish work early this year for Christmas and I'm trying to cram in as much research as possible, I'm British but I live in Poland so I might be asking for a bit of help for local research as I don't get back very often. If anyone needs any help researching Polish...
