Re: ARC TBC - Stockett Family in the 13th-17th Centuries

It is still a brickwall, but it may remain that way. I have uncovered quite a few Stocket family members prior to Lewys, but I still have not found a link.

Re: Susan Stocket

I'm now trying to find a record of Susan's death/burial. I had help from Maths Girl with transcribing Edward Lutwyche's will, and it does not mention a wife. It does mention Edward's sons: Stockett Lutwyche and Edward Lutwyche; and states that Stockett is the younger son, that Stockett was married a...

Re: Susan Stocket

Thank you very much, Mark. I tried Find My Past UK after doing a Bing search for Boyd's, but I must have used incorrect terms, because I received 0 results for both Susan and Edward. I really appreciate you taking the time to help me.

Re: Susan Stocket

Sorry to be somewhat dense, but I looked on Ancestry.co.uk and couldn't find Boyds; nor could I find it on Google Books. Can you give me the full name of the volume? I did find two marriage records on Ancestry, taken from Guildhall, St. Dunstan in the West Composite Register, but I am hoping that Bo...

Re: Susan Stocket

After my last post, I did some more searching and found two records for a marriage between Edward Lutwyche and Susan. The two dates are 7 Apr 1567 and 8 Apr 1567, both at St. Dunstan in the West, London. Both are clearly referring to Edward and Susan, but are from different pages or documents. I tri...

Re: Susan Stocket

Thanks for the replies. Interestingly, Edward Wailande was the first husband of Lucye Marwood, who, secondly, married Sir Lewys Stockett. She and Edward had two sons (mentioned in her will): Edmond and Henry/Henricus. Edward Wailande, Lucy's husband, died in 1551. Per the National Archives of the UK...

ARC TBC - Susan Stocket

I recently found a reference to a Susan Stocket, da. and coh. of Sir Lewis Stocket of co. Kent who married Edward Lutwych of Salop in the book "Collections for a History of Staffordshire in 1614 and 1663-64". It is on page 204, which deals with the pedigree of the family of Lutwich of Blak...

Re: Stockett Family who did not emigrate to America

I did use the Family Search link in the other thread. I found a few baptisms for some of my ancestors, but I'm still lost as far as the Stockett family who did not emigrate. The progenitor of my line is Lewys Stockett (c. 1530-1578/79). I can find no siblings and I cannot seem to find the name of Le...

Re: Stockett Family - primarily in Kent

Thanks, I will. Are those records considered official? I am not familiar with how Family Search gets their data.

*Archive?* Stockett Family - primarily in Kent

I am looking for birth/baptism records for the mid-1500's. Most of my family (Stocket or Stockett) lived in Kent; a few in London. I've looked through Ancestry.co.uk, with not much luck. I've found a few wills using the online National Archives of the UK, but I'm at a loss to find what I need. Lois

ARC TBC - Stockett Family who did not emigrate to America

Hello, I am trying to trace the lines of Stockett's who did not emigrate to America c. 1658. I have found many, but can't seem to find the thread that goes back to the 1700's. I am descended from Thomas Stockett (c. 1625-1671) who came to America with his brothers Lewis, Francis and Henry. Does anyo...

ARC - Stockett Family in the 13th-17th Centuries

Hello, I am living in Michigan, USA, and I am researching my father's family in England -- Stockett (or Stoket). I have traced back with pretty good sources to Lewis (Lewys or Lovodico/Lovodicus) Stockett. Lewis was born ca. 1530 in Hackington, Kent, England. He died in London in February, 1578, and...

I failed to mention that I am in the US. I am also researching the Ayleworth (Aylworth) side of my family in England, as well as the Stockett family. It does not seem that any Ayleworth's emigrated to the colonies.
