Re: *Archive?* John Provident Whale

Hi Jo

Sorry for the delay in my reply. Been very busy with work recently and had no time at all to work on my family history.

I have stopped working on the family for the time being, so this can be achieved.

Hope to get back to the searches when time permits.

Thanks Jo

Re: PR- Mary Jane Whale- Need help with a double baptism

Thanks for your replies. I am pretty sure that this person is who I am researching and are the same person. I guess it does not really matter that they were baptised twice but it was the first time I have came across this and thought it strange. Thanks for your views anyway. I guess it is one of tho...

*Arc * -PR- Mary Jane Whale- Need help with a double baptism

Could anyone take a look at two records for me? My research is on a Mary Jane Whale born on the 4th June 1871 in Spitalfields, London. I have found a record of baptism on the 25th June 1871 at St Stephens, Spitalfields, Tower Hamlet. I have also found a baptism record for the 13th November 1872 at S...

Re: Need some help please

Hello Mark Thanks for checking this out. Nothing more frustrating than finding an individual which could be the key figure in the whole tree and not finding any other information on him or others associated with him but I am grateful for your time on this. With regards to the resource sites, like I ...

*Archive?* John Provident Whale

Need some help with a search for the parents of John Provident Whale John was born in Ashmansworth, Hampshire in 1801. He married Sarah Burkett in 1828. He died in Bethnal Green in June 1852. He may have been born earlier than 1801 as his death certificate indicated that he was 60 years old when he ...

Re: Advice on software

Hi Paul I recently purchased "Family Tree Maker 2011" and its the best tree making software I have used. I think this program covers pretty much all your looking for. Take a look and checkout the reviews first. I have been using it for the last couple of weeks and I am very impressed. Hope...

Re: Marriage record

This is the man, just need his wife's maiden name. With all your help, I have the family up to the 1911 census, and the children names and birth years. I make it 9 children (If I counted that right) so I will trace each of them and maybe a clue to the mum's maiden name may be found in one of their r...

Re: Marriage record

The name is Joseph Jonas Whale born 24th Dec 1847. (I believe the ref for him is 1d 856) Married Mary Anne (or ann), in 1879. But what I am trying to seek most is the maiden name for Anne. I did think it could be Mary Ann A Allen, married same year but I have since found through one of her children'...

Re: Whale family

I would say that 1878/9 is the year of marriage by the 1911 census (Married 33 years). Checked out Mary Ann's married in Wandsworth for that year and came up with a few. One possibility was Mary Ann A Allen (1d 833). But cannot link the two together. Out of interest, can you get marriage details wit...

*Archive* Marriage record

I have a question regarding marriage entry records. Does the page and Volume no (Example 1a 875) on a marriage record remain the same for the partners record? I have a relative who I believe married in 1879 and has a page ref 1D 856, but trying to match him with his spouse, does the number link them...

Re: Whale family

Thanks for checking this out. I am more than 90% sure these are my relations. Thank you Maths Girl for the 1911 census. No, I did not have this information and its a great help. As far as the nine year old, I feel sure that he was Joseph's son from a previous marriage or relationship. There was a re...
