Can anyone tell me where I might access electoral rolls for Burwell Cambridgeshire for 1945 and 1946? I have an address but not a name. Thanks

Re: Old Dean Common Camberley WW2

Thank you. I have proof now that it was used for behind the lines training. BCRA agents began their training at Old Dean, then Ringway near Manchester, West Court, Thame Park then Beaulieu before they went on missions behind the lines in France. Very brave men and women. A lot of them never returned.

Re: Old Dean Common Camberley WW2

Thank you very much for that. Yes, I have seen the Wiki entry. I will look at the site link you have given me. It's a complicated story but the reason I asked about Chobham was because we believe it may have been a place where a young woman (family history stuff) and a free french agent used to meet...

Elections didn't start again until after war. I think the first electoral rolls were 1946. But just to check, where would I find them? Thanks.

Hello. I am trying to find out who lived at a particular address in Burwell Cambs early to mid 1945. Does anyone have any ideas about how I might do this? Thank you.

Divorce 1940s

Hello. I'm not sure if I've asked this question before but I am still trying to find out so I'll ask again. Does anyone know what the minimum time was that people had to wait to get a divorce in the 1940s? I have scoured the internet for this information and can't find anything. Thank you.

Re: Earls Court Road 1945

Thank you very much for that. That explains why there were so many women listed. But it also proves that it's not the family member I thought it might be. Just the same name. Oh, well onwards and upwards. :)

I don't know where you ordered the last certificate but Birmingham seem to offer a very helpful service and try to only issue certificates that match your requirements.

Re: Death registration

Then there is this one Deaths Dec 1910 Johnson Sarah 48 Aston 6d 146a If you go to FreeBMD and click to see the image she is actually down as aged 42. Which could be pretty close if she was 34 in 1901. That could well be her! Thanks a lot for that. I think I'll risk it and send off for that cert. T...
