I have existing info on Daniel Rolfe who married Anne dessy baker in 1774 and had two children Edward and Daniel, but I cant for the life of me find father Daniels parents!! The Daniel I have was born in 1749, so I must be looking before then, probably around the Woodham walter area, but that might ...

Does anyone know if I could claim Georges medals as his Nephew?
How terrible that no one replied to the letter asking for information about him!!
He had 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
His brother William was till having children in 1922, so he a next of kin!!!!

In memory of George Rolfe who served with the 11th Batallion of the Middlesex Regiment in the Somme.
He died on March the 16th 1916 during a fierce battle to take a front line German trench.
He, and his fellow heroes, who sacrificed so much for us, shall never be forgotten.
