I am deeply grateful to everyones efforts in trying to find the elusive Uncle Fred.
Could I ask for any suggestions please that I might take up locally to see if I can try and find where he went either geographically or perhaps died at a young age.
Many thanks once again
David

Re: Uncle Fred - where art thou!
I have been reading with amazement all the efforts people are making on behalf of my search for Uncle Fred. The determination everyone is showing is very much appreciated and please all, accept our very grateful thanks and appreciation. It has certainly had us stumped as to what happened to him. Tha...

Re: Uncle Fred - where art thou!
Many thanks everyone for your efforts, it is very much appreciated. The reason Frederick came on the scene late is that I could not find any of the family in the 1891 Census but they surface again in the 1901 record when Frederick first appears. The family are all Rochdale born except for John - Fat...

Re: Uncle Fred - where art thou!
Annie Many thanks for your help with the 1911 Census which shows that they were no longer at 104 Drake Street. John and Ellen were born in 1846 & 1844 respectively, so that rules out the 1911 entries under their name I assume, and the entry for Fred is too young because he would have been around...

*Archive?* Uncle Fred - where art thou!
Hi I am looking to trace a member of the family - Frederick Winterbottom - who until now was unknown from the rest because he was born between 1881 and 1891 but the family do not appear on the 1891 Census. They re-appear on the 1901 census when he is listed for the first time aged 15 living with the...

Picking up the trail.....
Hi I have just joined the Forum as I am picking up my Dad's previous research which he compiled many years ago and traced back to the late 1700s. The information he collated is mostly names and years of birth, but no dates of death or locations etc which I am trying to find, preferably on the net, a...
