Re: William Coley - Cradely 1806

and feel free to add it to Bcc. Thanks for the lookup on the church location.

I'm pretty sure I'm not going to ever get deeper than this for the William Coley's in the family with out being local and having some real luck with paper records.

Re: William Coley - Cradely 1806

That could very well be it, there are other events at St Mary before it appears they moved to Cradley for the Iron Works. Trying to find when those opened up to confirm the move reason.

Re: Family based on jobs in the Census (Coley)

I'm not sure if he did have one. The family was large and common by the looks of things, so the chances of having one are slim. It's more the "connection" thing making me wonder if it still exists. Being in Canada means I can't just make a 3 day weekend to drive down and check. Though I di...

Re: Family based on jobs in the Census (Coley)

I've already reported the two transcription errors on Ancestry for those cases (I think I'm up to 44 reports doing my family tree due to mis-readings of 'Coley') I have confirmed that William Coley died in 1878 in March Stourbridge v 6c, P 119 I actually ordered a copy of that certificate (not quite...

*Arc tbc* ---Family based on jobs in the Census (Coley)

Yes this is about the Coley's. I know I haven't posted much across the various genoalogy forums but those who are good with names will know this is about the Coley of Cradley. Thanks to Linell pointing out something in a different forum... I'm starting to suspect a family connection... and really ha...

Re: William Coley - 1807

Thanks. Looking at the Parish records (such as Pallot's Baptism Index for England: 1780 - 1837) I can see that not much information was recorded about the births if any. One case I found is the baby's name (wm coley) and father mother name. To bad the record I found is in Suffolk. Though since it is...

Question on the look up: Does this mean we do not know who his father is?
Seems stupid a question.

Re: Coley hello from Ajax Ontario Canada

The Joseph Coley from 1941 I don't know if his middle name was Henry. I do know that the 1876 Joseph Coley was Joseph Henry Coley. Is it possible that William Coley was the one who was the son of John Coley in Gnollis? Also there are two Walkers in the picture: William Coley's wife Mary Walker and J...

Re: Coley hello from Ajax Ontario Canada

In less than a day you all found everything I took a month to find! Plus some details I missed on exact addresses. Awesome.

Feel free to move this post anywhere you want.

The William Coley is by far the farthest I can go back on. But I'm taking the details here to add to my notes. Thanks

ARC tbc - William Coley - 1807

Hello All, I have talked to a few people who are also researching my family long my tree (Coley). We have all seemed to hit a major brick wall at William Coley (1807). The 1841 Census lists him as not being born in the Cradley area like the rest of the family past that. He was married to Mary Walker...
