Re: Missing in the 1881 British Census

Thanks Rocky but it's the 1881 that's the brickwall - I've got the 1891 census already.

Thanks for responding

Hi, After searching all the available online data bases I'm still unable to trace my grandmother, her parents and siblings in the 1881 census. I suspect the surname may have been mistranscribed but all the similar names I've come up with don't get a match. They were:- John Frederick GOULTY b Lambeth...

Re: Missing in the 1891 Census

Hi Maths girl, I've been to my local library where they have Ancestry online and I found the image of the 1891census that you found for me. Thanks, you were correct - I believe it's the right one. Very hard to read the writing but given that the family were involved with the East India company and t...

Re: Missing in the 1891 Census

Hi again,

Yes, the 1871 and 1891 are correct. I don't think the 1891 is correct unless they mistranscribed his age and surname.

Missing in the 1891 Census

Hi, I've just about given up on finding some ancestors in the 1891 census and I've tried Ancestry and Findmypast but with no luck. I'm wondering if there is a section of that census that's missing. Here are the people I'm trying to trace and most of them I've found in both the 1881 and 1901 censuses...

My interests are as follows: MASONs in London and Essex - HALKETs and WEBBs in Wiltshire and Australia - NOVRA in London - ALLANs in Canada BC and NS - HARRISs in Shanghai and Canada and ...
