Re: Joseph and Rebecca Bastable/Basterfield 1841 Census

Many thanks for all your help but I think my initial query about the 1841 Census for Joseph and Rebecca has been answered - no one has come across them. I have found Basterfields in France at this time so they are possibly in France or on their way back. Good to double check everything. So for me th...

Re: Joseph and Rebecca Bastable/Basterfield 1841 Census

Many thanks for all your help it has been interesting. It seems confirmed that Joseph and Rebecca were out of the country or missed in 1841 but thanks for looking. The bonus has been finding Ann Bastable who married William Hackett, though I have not found the marriage, who witnessed Joseph Bastable...

Re: Joseph and Rebecca Bastable/Basterfield 1841 Census

It is said that having an unusual surname makes it easy to research. Nonsense!! I am looking for Joseph and Rebecca in 1841 to confirm where they are as I have landed up researching all the Basterfield/Bastable lines to make sense of it all . Also having 2 Josephs of similar ages makes it difficult ...

Re: Joseph and Rebecca Bastable/Basterfield 1841 Census

I am so pleased that others are confused! I have been confused for the past 20 years changing between Joseph and Rebecca (Powell) and Joseph and Mary (White). Still cannot be 100% sure without any proof which is why I was seeking some confirmation with the 1841 entry. Common sense tells me that Sara...

Re: Joseph and Rebecca Bastable/Basterfield 1841 Census

Many thanks for such a quick reply. Great to have it confirmed that they do not appear on the 1841 Census. Just hoping someone had spotted them. Yes Sarah was the daughter of Joseph Basterfield and married Joseph ATTWOOd in 1845. In 1841 she is Sarah BASKERFIELD with son George and Joseph ATTWOOD li...

Joseph and Rebecca Bastable/Basterfield 1841 Census ARC TBC

Hi, I wonder if anyone has found Joseph and Rebecca (Powell) in Halesowen, possibly Islington, in 1841. Have searched using all sorts of variations but nothing so far. Rebecca Basterfield dies in Islington 23 June 1850 aged 70, witnessed by Sarah Attwood and Joseph Bastefield 11 March.1861In Birming...
