Re: MARION EDITH HALE
Hair done - so can concentrate now!!! Thanks a lot for your help on this - I really think I'm going to have to trouble the Aunts on this one - two wedding venues?, and two possible death dates?. I think the Cambourne Cornwall is the more likely, as they eventually lived in St Austell. However will s...

ARC TBC.................MARION EDITH HALE COMPLETED
Marion Edith Hale was the wife of Albert Parsons (1906) - through family records I have her as b.1903 (where?) and dying 1986 but again where? (could poss. be St Austell Cornwall). I also have a wedding date c1942 but again no place name mentioned (could be St Lukes Cradley) but nothing in records. ...

Re: Bearwood: 1956-1968
Bearwood - well fancy - we didn't go to Bearwood we went up the Bear!! Having lived in Smethwick (no it isn't Smerrick!) for many years this post was a trip down Memory Lane. My Aunt managed the sweets and tobacco shop Thorntons, next door was Freeman, Hardy Willis and a couple of doors lower down w...

Re: Very Good Read
"I've got a super book for you to read" said my hairdresser "It's really really good". With trepidation I looked at what she was handing me -- Camilla Lackberg -- never heard of her! She insisted I take it (she runs a lending library to her clients). A Scandanavian thriller that'...

Re: Drivel about Drizzle cake etc
I used to make Lemon Drizzle Cake on a regular basis when the grandchildren were small - however my grandson always referred to it as Lemon Dribble cake (and still does!). A bit off putting don't you think?

Re: What are you reading?
An author I have recently 'found' is Kate Furnivall - obtainable on Amazon. They are mainly based in Russia at the turn of the century and I found them hard to put them down. I read them in old fashioned way - held in my hands with manual page turning - I believe they were called books!! My friend l...
Re: E-Books!
I believe John Lewis is the only store that sells Kindles - price the same as Amazon. Of course if you have a JL near
you would be able to get a demo and advice from the sales staff. My daughter went down to Southampton to
investigate and found them very helpful.

Re: E-Books!
I like the sound of these but wonder how they work is it sound or print that you read, and if it's print is it large enough to read, I have to get the large print books from the library. Annie Annie - if you are seriously interested in e-books, I would suggest you try downloading the software onto ...
