Re: Thomas Longmore--NL adding to Bcc
Just looked at both of William's marriages on BCC and they both will be correct for him as the witnesses to both marriages are his siblings and their spouses There is a marriage on FreeReg (and FMP) of a Thomas Longmore to Ellen Betley. It took place at St Peter, Wolverhampton on the 13th June 1848....

Re: Thomas Longmore--NL adding to Bcc
Hi NL, We haven't found what became of Thomas Longmore the father yet. We know now he was alive in 1847 when his wife Mary died. I believe he probably is still alive in 1851. Its also likely that he moved from Brierley Hill as I can't find any burial there for him. Where he is though, I have no idea

Re: Thomas Longmore--NL adding to Bcc
Yes I think the William quoted is likely to be the right William who was a son of Thomas & Mary. The place of marriage also fits as his brother married at the same church. I wondered, are the Holy Trinity, Wordsley baptisms & marriages transcribed anywhere or on a disk that can be purchased?...

Re: Thomas Longmore
Hi Gardner, I think you are right about the burial. Based on it, i've just ordered Mary's death cert. Hopefully it will say either 'The wife' or 'The widow' of Thomas Longmore to give us an idea if he's still alive, although I believe he probably is due to two of his children not mentioning him bein...

Re: Thomas Longmore
John was born in Tipton, it says so on his baptism at St Thomas, Dudley. I hadn't realised the baptism had been added to FreeReg since I had last checked. My Hannah's baptism at the same place stated that the family were living in Rowley at the time. I think i've just found the proof that John who m...

Re: Thomas Longmore
Hi Linnell, Many thanks for the information. I've made a note of it all and hope it will eventually fit in somewhere I've just found John's baptism on Freereg (I am sure it wasn't there last time I looked lol) and it does indeed say son of Thomas & Mary Longmore of Tipton! So I am not sure that ...

Re: Thomas Longmore
I feel that this John is likely to be the same John who is the son of Thomas in 1841. I've managed to follow him and Keziah up their deaths in Rotherham in 1885. Ages seem a little eratic but they all point to being the same John who was born in 1820. His birth place is consistently given as Tipton....

Re: Thomas Longmore
Thank you everyone for taking the time to have a look for this man. I think he's going to remain a brick wall for me at the moment. Hannah doesn't say that her father is deceased on her marriage cert but I know that doesn't really mean anything.

Re: Thomas Longmore
I have Hannah's marriage cert to Samuel Raybould. She married at Dudley Parish Church on the 22nd February 1846. She names her father as Thomas Longmore, a Furnaceman. The witnesses mean nothing to me but they are called Matthew Jones & Mary Johnson. I haven't bought any of her siblings' certs y...

Re: Thomas Longmore
Hi, Many thanks for taking a look at that mark. I thought it was an i but I can see why it also looks like just a mark too. I don't have the family in 1851 either. I've looked around for them. I wondered if both Thomas & Mary had possibly died. Hannah Longmore, now Hannah Raybould was living in ...

ARC TBC Thomas Longmore--
Hi, My Great x 4 Grandfather was Thomas Longmore who was born circa 1795 (place unknown). All I know about Thomas is from the 1841 census where he is in Brierley Hill with his wife Mary and some children including my great x 3 grandmother Hannah. I've been searching around online for any information...

Re: Richard Raybould Brick Wall
Hi Gardner, Nothing ever fits with this branch of mine There is a burial at Brierley Hill of an Elizabeth Raybould aged 82 on the 24th March 1850. Either the ages of Richard & Elizabeth on the 1841 census are way out, or this is another Richard & Elizabeth; however, I cannot locate another R...
