St Michael Street once had a right-hand side in the 1950s-60s, with Thompson & Rose on the corner next to the Star & Garter, my aunt used to buy live eels there, you could see them writhing in metal bins. Good wet fish too. Not sure when Thompson & Rose went, like so many other things... Also a fishing tackle shop next to the bus stop for Oldbury.
