Is this what the grammer school's called nowadays?
This seat of learning is now a college of sport?
What's this all about??

Yes, Rob. I passed for it in 1958, but went to one of the Birmingham grammar schools. I knew a lot of people there including Mick Aston of the Time Team, I went on a dig with him in 1964, and Martin Elliott who took the Tennis Girl poster phtograph. The grammar school became comprehensive in 1974.

It is a College of Sport as it is a Specialist Schools College and their specialism is Sport. They get extra funding for this.
There is a lot of new building work going on there at the moment.

Sorry the building work is at their Upper School Site in Pound Road. The building in the picture became part of Oldbury College of Sport or Warley High School as it was called before, it is their Lower School. They will soon be vacating it and it will be empty. The building in the picture, I believe was Oldbury Grammar School.
Warley High School or Oldbury College of Sport in Pound Road used to be Oldbury Tech, I think.
