That could be me at the back. Mrs Cooksey's shop on the corner and just around the corner was Syd Brown's Barber shop and "Our Graham "lived next door a couple of more houses and you had The Travellers Rest where you had to be careful during certain hours of a monkey tied up in the corridor while his owner was having a pint. I'd always make Our Graham go in first to make sure the coast was clear.

Over the road from the pub was Tommy Brain's coal yard and then next to that was Cuxson and Gerrards warehouse where we'd play in the cotton bales. Over the road was The "Bottom" pub and then Eel Street which is still there but only Ghosts remain.
