1939 in his R.A.F uniform out the front of his house in Smethwick just before heading off for Hong Kong.
It was a quiet war for Harry until December 1941.
Then his unit was one of the first to meet the Japanese in combat after Pearl Harbour.
It was then chaos as they moved all around South East Asia and the sub-continent trying to avoid destruction and to counter attack.
