Imagename: Albert Reginald Ford 1912-1971
1939 - Just after Reginald enlisted with the Royal Engineers as a Sapper.
After training, and marriage to my Grandma, Eleanor Mary Homer, he left for the front in June 1940.
He was sent back after less than a year after suffering a mental breakdown over the carnage he saw.
It was not shell shock, but a basic inability to accept the death and detruction.
It changed him and he was never the same and his gentle nature and kindness was almost completely erased by the brutality he saw.
