Arthur was born in Tipton and lived on Bell Street for most of his life. He was married for over 50 years to Susan Wilkes, a Coseley girl (the picture above their 50th wedding anniversary). He played an active role in community life, even supporting local charitable organisations and offering cheaper rates for the poor to bury loved ones.
