Does anyone know how I find out when a person was ordained Reverend in England during the early to mid 1800's? I'm looking for two brothers who became Reverends. One is Richard Thomas Arthur St Leger b. 1790 in Portugal and lived his life in England and the other is Frederick St Leger born about 1832. Thank you.

Try Crockfords Clerical Directory. You can search it online at https://www.crockford.org.uk/search It uses abbreviations to reduce the space for each entry but there is a list of abbreviations under the FAQ tab.

Thank you for the link. It doesn't look as if Crockfords Clerical Directory can give me the information I need. It's not covered in FAQ.

Apologies for my delay in replying.

Thank you Kdwoodie for this information. It really has helped in my pursuit of the St Leger family in particular the Reverend Richard Thomas Arthur St Leger.

Robyn.
