I used to love cod and chips but I agree with you Rob, there's just no taste to it so I don't bother

I always enjoy fish and chips in England. Chips are meant to be soggy and soaked in vinegar :-)

That said, the Best Ever award goes to some that you used to get in Sanquhar. They used to flatten out whole filleted whiting and they were so crisp that you could pick up the whole fish and eat it. We were only ever there in the summer though, so the chips were always made from new potatoes and never good. And that had that stupid colourless non-brewed condiment instead of vinegar. The fish was superb though.

George and Helens Rob - Greek rellies of my son in law - they're not really George and Helen - they kept the name when they took it over. The parents have gone back to Cyprus now and their son Kostas has taken it over. They are at 372 Court Oak Road | Harborne, Birmingham, address is Harborne but they are erally Quinton, just opposite the Court Oak Pub. Their claim to fame is that whenever Take That were anywhere near Birmingham - they always came here for their fish and chips.
