According to US Census of 1900 he arrived in 1881. He bece citizen in 1893. I found a Benjamin Billo entering US on March 28 1881..age 8 on the ship Arizonia. I think the o was a typo and that's him. Can't find when Henry his father came over ...but it must have been earlier as I don't see him on the ship with Eliza. All of their children(males) worked in the steel mills here as chainmakers including Benjamin.

Do you how I can find out more information on these 2 baptisms?I am pretty sure that is another part of the family...but no clue where they were living in the 1971 census that I can find. Thank you so much for all the information you were able to track down so far it has been wonderful. Hope your computer is back and running without too much aggravation.

I think the only way would be to contact the local libary and explain what you are after

http://www.sandwell.gov.uk/info/200261/ ... t_bromwich

because you live along way away they might check the appropriate parish records for you.

Thanks for the suggestion . I sent out email asking if they could help just now...gave them the info that you had discovered. So let's hope they can find something out. We let you know, but in the mean time I'll keep hunting...although obviously not as "good a shot" as you are!!! Thanks again for the recent find about her abode of Horseley Heath..have to see if Cradley where Henry Bills is from is near there.

Jimmy...its been a long time since I was able to get back to you....summer traveling...but I wanted to thank you so much for all your help and suggestions for research...I did contact the library as you suggested and they confirmed as best they could what you had discovered about my Eliza in Horsely Heath as being the wife of Henry Bills and the mother of Emma. Unfortunately, Henry murdered Eliza in 1905 in a drunken rage...he died in 1908. I haven't found out in if he ever spent time on jail for her murder or got off claiming it was an accident...still looking for that over here in the states...but you are my hero for all that you were able to discover and I thank you again for your time, dedication and interest in helping others.
Hope you had a wonderful summer and will continue to a great year!
