When I was a student I worked at the Post Office before Christmas 1966 as a temporary postman. Delivering letters around Rood End in the cold and dark was very hard work, and I was given a bicycle without lights... The only person to give me a tip was "Uncle" Lewis Waterhouse, one of my Dad's old drinking pals, it was an act of impartial generosity, he'd not seen me for years and had no idea who I was! Many thanks, Lew.

I worked as a temporary postman Christmas 1964 operating from Oldbury Post Office.
My round was Warley.Bristnall Lane,Eva Road and Princess Road.I'd forgotten all about that!! Thats when i first met my wife Illsa.I had platinum hair and black eyebrows!!
Her mother,my future mother in law, couldn't understand the colour difference!
